How many Children live in our Homes?
Fresh Nepal: 17 orphaned and abandoned Children
How are the Children educated?
The Children living at Fresh Nepal go to public schools, and when they come back home to Fresh Nepal they continue with activities and their studies. At Fresh Nepal we have set up a small classroom run by a teacher living at the orphanage who is in charge of our Children, who orientates them in their studies and extra-scholastic activities and in addition there is a team of staff in charge of watching over them and ensuring their safety and quality of life.
Do needy Children from the rural areas have access to schooling?
YES, we are currently working in the Darchula District, getting children into school.
How long can Children stay at our Fresh Nepal Home?
Until they reach age 18, by Law. In Fresh Nepal they are educated and given affection and support, preparing them to be capable and independent in future. Fresh Nepal offers them the chance to stay within our community, sharing their knowledge with the family that our organisation has become.
Once Children reach age 18, what happens?
The Children can stay on at our Home and continue being a part of the large family, if they so desire.
What other Projects are there?
- We rescue orphaned and abandoned Children.
- Development Programme for vocational training for Women.
- Micro-credits for Women's Cooperatives in rural areas. Women handle a larger proportion of the family income and it has been shown that Women spend more income on their homes than anywhere else, therefore, when Women are helped to increase their income, the well-being of the entire family improves.
- Scholarship programmes for education of Children in rural areas.
- Library and Science Lab Programme.
